And a brand new blog.
A few words from me, the founder of Delightfully Scrumptious, in my very first blog on this site. I'm David, by the way.
Every business has to start at the beginning, and this is where Delightfully Scrumptious is at. This first post may not receive many views but 2026 as a whole will hopefully prove to be a year of steady growth.
In the formation of the business, I had two options - one being to become an online trader selling random items featuring pre-made designs purchased from others, or to endeavour to create my own brand.
I chose the latter. So, after a period of piecing things together including developing numerous collections featuring a range of matching products, here we are.
Naturally, a 'DS' logo currently lacks the undoubted familiarity of, say, a Nike emblem or indeed one much less famous - an obvious point, I know - but every brand starts small with the intention of building a following.
Given that lack of familiarity, attracting early adopters to the brand is a challenge but one I'm happy to take on. After all, many a new brand appears nowadays and it's not all that rare to see some quickly becoming household names. Not that I assume this will necessary be the future for this brand. There's a plethora of choice out there and we're not a subset of an existing brand.
From a customer viewpoint I can certainly see some appeal in possessing an item that is perhaps, for a while, a rare one . . . though I also recognise that becoming one of the first to adopt and support a new brand does push back against an instinctive fear of the unknown. All emerging brands face this challenge, though, hence I do hope that, over time, our products are not such an unusual sight.
So, early adopters - we welcome you with open arms!
You may have already noticed that we don't make your product until you've actually ordered it, and that's the subject of the next blog.
Regards,
David Smith
